ILAC IELTS to schedule more test dates at Northern Lights College in Fort St John
ILAC’s official IELTS centre, based in Vancouver, has resumed regular testing in off-site location Fort St John, British Columbia.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, ILAC IELTS Vancouver has faced some challenges operating tests in off-site* locations including Fort St John, Prince George and Kelowna, due to provincial travel and safety restrictions.
(*Off-site IELTS testing refers to exams conducted in cities or towns where ILAC does not have a permanent test venue. Instead, these exams are hosted at local venues such as schools, colleges or hotels.)
ILAC is not alone. Almost every IELTS centre around the world has faced similar challenges, though demand for IELTS testing has remained. Temporary residents and workers in Canada depend on IELTS for their permanent residency and citizenship applications, as well as applications to study at Canadian colleges and universities.
Now in October of 2021, BC has reached stage 3 of its restart plan. As a result, ILAC IELTS Vancouver staff are now permitted to safely travel within the province and slowly resume off-site testing at select locations. All IELTS tests operated by ILAC still observe safety measures such as distancing, masks and frequent cleaning and sanitization.
ILAC strongly believes essential testing should be easily accessible to everyone regardless of where they live. The centre aims to serve test-takers in more remote areas of Canada at off-site IELTS venues. As of October 2021, ILAC Vancouver is the only test centre operating IELTS in Fort St John, hosted at Northern Lights College (9820 – 120th Avenue, Fort St John, BC).
Currently, ILAC IELTS Vancouver has two (2) test dates in 2021 with availability; 23 October and 20 November. The test centre will add dates for 2022 towards the end of this year, which will be available to book online. There will be no off-site testing in December 2021.
